Who’s who in D&D?

7th March 2019 by Conor

This is a reference post for the Campaign Diary. I will edit it and keep it up to date as we play!

Updated as of Campaign Diary #10.

The Dungeon Delvers.

a.k.a The Player Characters!

A plastic figurine of a blonde haired man wearing a red cloak. His hands are outstreched and clear plastic lightening bolts erupt from his hands.
Theon Longwood

Theon Longwood –Theon is a Human Wizard. He has a history of running cons and tricking people out of their money by cheating at gambling. One of the original four hired by Gundren Rockbreaker to escort mining supplies to Phandalin. Theon is known to constantly put his foot in his mouth.

A plastic figureine of a dark haired man wearing a blue tunic and green cloak is ready for battle, an arrow notched in his bow.
Gryff of Thundertree

Gryff – Gryff is a Human Ranger. Originally from Thundertree, his family fled his hometown when he was a baby. Mt Hotenow’s eruption destroyed most of the town. One of the original four hired by Gundren Rockbreaker to escort mining supplies to Phandalin. He recently made his way back to Thundertree and found the home he should’ve grown up in, finding the ceremonial carving knife given to his father when he became a master carpenter.

A plastic figurine of a half-dragon half-man. He is running with a large shield in front of him and a bloodied spear at his side.
Dovogholz

Dovogholz – A Bronze Dragonborn Fighter. Not much of a talker, no-one in the party knows where he comes from, but he is deadly with his halberd and hand-axes, so no-one asks. One of the original four hired by Gundren Rockbreaker to escort mining supplies to Phandalin. He has an odd habit of collecting the ears of those he kills in battle.

A plastic figurine depicting a tiny but fierce looking gnome woman with long blonde hair. She holds a bloody dagger in one hand.
Naoise Gnomemeadows

Naoise Gnomemeadows – A Gnome Rogue. Unlike Dovogholz, Naoise is too much of a talker. Nobody is quite sure of Naoise’s age, as Gnomes can live for centuries. She’s deadly with her crossbow. One of the three found in the Redbrand prison in Trensendar Manor. She forced one of her former captors, Frank, to marry her in revenge. He is terrified of her.

A dark haired white skinned elvish woman. She is leaping forward creating a large arc of flame in front of her.
Reynarín

Reynarín – A Wood-elf Druid. Reynarín grew up in Phadalin and the Neverwinter Forest north of it. One of the three found in the Redbrand prison in Trensendar Manor. She recently revealed that the claim that she and Necrolas were half-siblings was completely false.

Ser Donat of Rosenbeck – He was a Human Paladin. Ser Donat is from nobility, but his families house and lands were utterly destroyed by the eruption of Mt Hotenow. One of the original four hired by Gundren Rockbreaker to escort mining supplies to Phandalin. He was brutally murdered by a member of the Cult of Katara, as he was trying to put a stop to them delivering a kidnapped child to Krampus.

Necrolas – A Half-Elf, Half-Dwarf Bard. His father gave him his lute, which he carries around as well as his war-hammer. One of the three found in the Redbrand prison in Trensendar Manor. He introduced himself as Reynarín’s half brother, on their mother’s side. Has gone missing on the day Venomfang attacked Phandalin. Presumed dead.

The Non-Player Characters

Gundren Rockbreaker – One of the three Rockbreaker brothers. Hired Dovogholz, Theon, Gryff and Donat as well as Sildar Hallwinter to escort some new mining equipment to Phandalin. Was attacked and kidnapped by the Cragmaw Goblin Clan and recently found, unconscious, by the Dungeon Delvers in Cragmaw Castle.

Sildar Hallwinter – Another of Gundren’s employees, along with Theon, Donat, Dovogholz and Gryff. Sildar was with Gundren when they were ambushed by the Cragmaw Clan (A clan of goblins). Sildar was taken to a cave hideout, while Gundren was taken to Cragmaw Castle. The Dungeon Delvers rescued Sildar from the Cragmaws and brought him back to Phandalin, where he has been aiding and singing the praises of the group. He was the first on the scene after Donat’s murder.

The Black Spider – A mysterious figure who seems to be pulling the strings all over the greater Phandalin area. The group have never met The Black Spider, but believe he may be a Drow (Dark Elf) as they came across a Doppleganger who was posing as him. Seems to have been implicit in the Goblin Ambush, Venomfang’s attack on Phandalin, as well as Sir Donat’s murder.

Lana of Parilla – While the Dungeon Delvers pursued the demon Krampus on the night of Sir Donat’s murder they came across Lana. She was weeping over her gravely injured husband outside of Krampus’ gingerbread house. The group were instrumental in saving Lana’s son Henry from Krampus’ clutches. To return the favour, she saved them from Venomfang, banishing her to another plane of existance. However, when she saw Dovogholz crush an unarmed man’s skull, she left the group. “Consider my debt repaid.”

Venomfang – A young Green dragon, a mere 75 years old. Venomfang decided to roost in the ruins of Thundertree, Gryff’s hometown. She attacked Phandalin, mysteriously only attacking the buildings that the party had been to. In revenge the group decided to go to Thundertree to kill her, but unfortunately they almost fell to her. Lana of Parilla banished her to an unknown plane of existance just before she could kill anyone. Whereabouts: unknown.
