Stephen is a fantasy writer originally from Omagh Co. Tyrone in Northern Ireland, and now living in Belfast Co. Antrim. He is the author of Skelly’s Square, Bomb Girl, and New Jerusalem, which are all part of the Kirkwood Scott Chronicles.
Stephen Black is a fantastic author, great friend, and all around decent sort. He started writing on his website FracturedFaithBlog.com when he and his wife were looking for a church to call home. Later he self-published his first novel, Skelly’s Square, in 2019. Stephen talks about having OCD and how it’s affected his life. He incorporated his experience into the main character of his series, Kirkwood Scot. We also speak about the Troubles in Northern Ireland. In 1998, Stephen’s home town, Omagh was the centre of a car bombing. This was the last major attack before the Good Friday/Belfast Agreement that brought an end to the Troubles.
It’s a great interview, and I was delighted it went so well, as after the recording, Stephen revealed that his entire family were sitting in the room listening in! I felt very on show!
I want to thank Mr Stephen Black once again for being on the show back in Season 1. It was a great experience to get to know him, and I cannot reccommend his book enough, it’s a cracker!
