Season 1, Episode 8
Back in Season 1, I was in the middle of writing the first draft of my children’s fantasy book. I decided to reach out to one of the powerhouses in Irish Children’s fiction, Sarah Webb. Much to my surprise, Sarah was more than happy to talk to me!
Sarah and I start off with her love of reading, but also writing. Her first published work was when she was only 12, a piece about why people should read books instead of watching television! Years later, Sarah was working as a book seller in an independent bookshop in Dublin city. She decided to write something she noticed was missing; a children’s cook book. Over 40 books later, Sarah is now a full time children’s writer. She also works on organising book festivals, teaches writing both for children and to children, and much, much more! This is one of my favourite episodes. I was really happy with how this turned out, despite the poor sound quality!
Thanks so much to Sarah Webb for coming onto the show. More importantly, thanks to Sarah for offering to re-record the show. I said no at the time as I was pretty happy with it, and I know that I’ll have Sarah back on in the near future! If you’d like to know more about Sarah you can follow her on Twitter, Instagram or better yet, check out her website! There’s some links below to her books too, be sure to check them out!
