Season 3, Episode 5
Margaret Ghielmetti is an author, improv actor, and performer. Although I think she sums it up best when she says “I’m an artist”. Margaret is the author of Brave(ish): A Memoir of a Recovering Perfectionist, as well as the creator of her one woman show Fierce.
Margaret and I talk a lot about her childhood, and how living with very loving parents influenced her growing up. She explains that although creativity and imagination was encouraged, her childhood home was also very strict. We talk about the many childhood stories that had a hold on her. We even track the influence of those stories right up to adulthood. Margaret and her Swiss born husband Patrick moved around the world multiple times. They lived in Egypt, France, Singapore and more, as well has visiting countless more places. We talk about the main lesson she learned in those years travelling. One thing Margaret and I discussed that I’ll take with me always is that putting yourself first isn’t a selfish act.
Thanks once again to Margaret Ghielmetti for coming onto the show. Margaret has loads more about her travels and her books on her website at www.margaretghielmetti.com. You can also find her on twitter, and I highly reccommend you check out her Instagram, where you’ll see fantastic photos from her travels and more!
