Season 3, Episode 3
Marcus Ako is an actor, radio show host, YouTuber, stage actor, film director AND he writes both graphic novels and literary novels. Phew! If you couldn’t tell, Marcus is a very busy man, but one common thread amongst all of them is that Marcus clearly loves to tell stories.
As the youngest of four, Marcus was never allowed to be a star in the fun movies his family made. He was always told he was too young, that it “wasn’t his time.” This seemed to give him a serious storytelling appetite! When the family moved from Nigeria to England, that restarted Marcus’ attempt at being a serious actor! We talk about the big cultures shocks of moving from one continent to another, what it’s like to be in a 24 hour play, and how a chance encounter led to him being a radio host!
A huge thanks to Marcus Ako for coming onto the show and sharing his story. It was a ridiculously fun interview and I really enjoyed it!
